DePauw announces return to traditional residential campus for fall 2021

DePauw University will return to normal classroom and living operations in the fall, President Lori S. White announced today.
“I am extremely pleased to officially confirm our plans to return to a fully residential living, learning and working environment for fall term 2021,” White said. “Although we can’t know with certainty what guidelines and practices the Centers for Disease Control and local, state and national agencies will require this fall, we are optimistic about a return to a fully residential campus.”
White said the decision was based on the DePauw community’s adherence to health and safety guidelines; the availability of COVID-19 vaccines; and the university’s plan to distribute vaccines when they become available. She added that the university’s COVID-19 mitigation team will continue to closely monitor the pandemic and that the university would continue to work with local and state health officials to ensure adherence to health and safety requirements.
“I am grateful to everyone for their tireless efforts in protecting and planning for our university community,” White said.
Planning is ongoing and more details about fall plans and information about class registration, residence halls, work policies and vaccinations will be provided by the divisions of Academic Affairs and Student Academic Life as it becomes available. Information will be distributed via email and the DePauw COVID-19 website.
