Faculty news roundup - July 2, 2020
Angela Castañeda, anthropology professor, has published the first of several articles documenting the impact of COVID-19 on doulas, birth and mothering. The article, “COVID-19 and the Birth of the Virtual Doula,” was published June 19 in the online journal Medical Anthropology Quarterly and co-authored by Julie Johnson Searcy.
Jeff McCall, communication and theatre professor, wrote an opinion piece for The Hill, “The principle of free expression is disintegrating,” June 19. He was quoted by The Christian Science Monitor in “Racial protests prompt waves of upheaval in America’s newsrooms” June 18 and The Hill in “New era of change hits newsrooms” June 10.
