Nathan was born and raised in Sparta, Michigan and is never shy about showing his home-state pride. He graduated from DePauw with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry in 2012. He chose DePauw for many reasons, but the one-on-one appointment he had with a chemistry professor ultimately brought DePauw to the top of his list. During his time as a student here he ran cross country and track and spent a semester abroad in Capetown, South Africa where he worked at a primary school as a mathematics tutor.
Nathan wholeheartedly believes in the power of DePauw’s liberal arts education. His transition from being a DePauw student to an Admission Counselor was easy because of the variety of transferable professional skills he built as a student here. He loves representing his alma mater on the road and enjoys meeting talented students across the country, helping them to understand the value of DePauw. He also enjoys staying connected with the students he recruits and watching them flourish on campus.
Nathan enjoys the outdoors and spends time away from the office running, boating, and tubing. He squeezes in a road trip to “Pure Michigan” as often as he can to visit with his parents and two younger sisters. Nathan also volunteers as a Greencastle youth basketball coach, and is an avid Detroit sports fan.
