International Admission Counselor
Hailing from the Golden State, April grew up in Southern California. She then moved to Northern California to attend California State University, Chico. She started out at CSU Chico as a Pre-Nursing major. After attending a study abroad fair on campus, she decided to spend a year studying abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. While at Waseda, she decided to switch majors after falling in love with an ethics and world politics class. Her time abroad at Waseda taught her not only how to order a delicious bowl of ramen, but the value of an international education. During her senior year, she interned in the study abroad office as a peer mentor for international students. Through that experience, she discovered a passion for international education and student services.
In the Spring of 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Asian Studies, with a minor in Japanese. After graduating, she knew she wanted to move to a place where she could experience all four seasons. She packed up her car and moved to Greencastle, joining the DePauw family. She now looks forward to helping international students embrace the unknown and chart out their own international adventure. When she is not working, you can find her baking in her kitchen, or trying out a new coffee shop.
