Emily Parham

Emily was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended a small high school, Villa Duchesne, where she participated in field hockey and cross country. Being a St. Louis native, the St. Louis Blues is her favorite sports team to watch and loves going to hockey games to enjoy the live action on the ice. She found her home away from home just a few hours away at DePauw University with its small classrooms, abundant opportunities, and beautiful campus.

Emily’s goal after college is to become a nurse practitioner, but in the meantime she is a history major and a biology minor. She fell in love with history in high school and continued taking history classes at DePauw which further proved her appreciation for understanding how the past shapes our present and future. Emily’s passion for biology is rooted in her desire to become a nurse practitioner. After taking her first college level biology class, she knew she wanted to know more about the way life works through a biological lens and hopes to take this scientific knowledge into her future career.

Her passion for helping and connecting with others is what drives her passion of taking care of people as a nurse practitioner. This desire for connecting with others is also the reason why Emily wants to work in the admissions office. She hopes to make personal connections with every prospective student and family she meets in the office and show them all DePauw University has to offer.
