Kayla is a DePauw graduate who proudly represents the Bronx, New York. She came to DePauw as a Posse scholar, where she and her Posse would embark on their four year journey at DePauw in 2018. As a student, Kayla was a member of the Association of African American Students (AAAS), cabinet member for DePauw Student Government, and a member of the Luxurious Lambda Tau chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Additionally, Kayla enjoyed working as an Development and Alumni Engagement Intern at DePauw, which sparked her interest in relationship building. Her fondest memories, however, are the times when she spent a Winter Term in South Africa and a semester studying off-campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Through her leadership roles, Kayla has dedicated her time to advocating for students and fostering community through social events. Subsequently, Kayla returned to DePauw to continue her advocacy work through a different lens as she deeply values social justice in higher education. She is eager to assist students shape their own DePauw Experience and build lifelong friendships beyond the classroom.
In her free time, you can find Kayla dining out with her friends, taking lots of naps, or playing The Sims. Kayla also enjoys spending time with her family and playing video games with her two little brothers.
