JP Olsen is a filmmaker, journalist, and writer. His films have appeared in The New York Times, on PBS, and in more than 80 film festivals and museums worldwide. His independent work has been supported by ITVS Open Call, New York State Council on the Arts, Jerome Foundation, Fund for Investigative Journalism, and the Experimental Television Center. In 2019, he was named a MacDowell fellow. In 2021, the University Press of Kentucky republished his book “The Narcotic Farm.” JP has taught journalism at Columbia University and served as guest lecturer on documentary at multiple universities. Before coming to DePauw, he was a Director of Original Programming at HBO.
