The DePauw University Campus

Our 695 acres of adventuresome grounds, distinct community spaces and 36 iconic buildings deliver continuous opportunities to engage, explore and get creative.

Located in the historic town of Greencastle, Indiana, just 45 minutes west of Indianapolis, DePauw is a fully residential liberal arts college. Our community comes to life through close interaction and a shared commitment to the excellence of our campus and academic experiences. 

From concerts and acclaimed lecture series to athletic events and student-led activities, there is always something new and intriguing to experience at DePauw.


Nature Park
Tie your shoelaces and trek through over nine miles of trails in our 520-acre nature park. Discover fields, forest, an abandoned limestone quarry and–a few miles away–one of the biggest waterfalls in Indiana. Take a run, hike with friends or tote in your tools and textbooks for biological research.

Downtown Greencastle
Break up your day with a bite to eat and entertainment in Greencastle. Just a short walk from campus, Downtown Greencastle offers food favorites, Starbucks cafe, and DePauw’s official bookstore, Eli’s Books–a perfect arena for study or conversation. Catch the latest film at the local theater, visit First Friday’s farmer’s market and attend a performance at Music on the Square. Art and cultural events are always in the line-up, featuring guest artists and musicians from around the world.

Historic East College
Built in 1877, DePauw’s East College is the oldest and most iconic building on campus, having made its way onto the National Register of Historic Places. Attend an event or speaker in its beautiful wood-laden Meharry Hall and listen for the daily ringing of the bell tower.

Experience our cutting-edge sports facilities and cheer on our 23 varsity teams as they compete to win in the North Coast Atlantic Conference. And don’t miss out on our annual Monon Bell football game between DePauw and Wabash College–voted Indiana’s best football rivalry by ESPN fans.
