197A: FYS: Elemental Theatre
Why is theatre so alluring? Why have humans in virtually every culture throughout recorded history been compelled to both witness and partake in the production of theatrical events? Elemental Theatre will examine this grand art form of our humanity through the various lenses of its many contributors: the playwright; the director; the scenic lighting, sound and costume designers; the actors; the critics; and the audience. Students will study the unique contributions of each in relation to live productions, including two at professional Indianapolis theatres.
197B: FYS: Collaborative Leadership: Driving Community Change Through Team Communication
This seminar will examine communication in high performance teams. We will examine the theory and research behind group communication, leadership communication, and high performance teams in our effort to understand and then foster community change through collaborative efforts.
