Lynn Ishikawa received a BA in English from the University of Michigan, an M.Sc. in Enlightenment literature from the University of Edinburgh, and an Ed.M. in language and literacy from Harvard. She teaches ESL and writing to first-year international students, and coordinates support for international students through Academic Life. Her main research interests include the role of identity and motivation in second-language writing and the ways in which haiku and poetry can be used in the language classroom. She returned to the States in 2011 after living in Japan for more than ten years.
