MittermeierKerry E. Pannell

Kerry E. Pannell, associate professor and department chair of economics and management at DePauw, teaches a variety of economics courses and first-year seminars.  Among the courses she has developed and taught are:  Contemporary Economic Problems, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Urban Economics, U.S. Economic History, and two First-Year Seminars – Women and Work, and Technology, Ethics and Health Economics.

Her current research focuses on business ethics and the rise of consumerism in the early 20th century. She has written numerous papers published in journals and given presentations at conferences, including the 2005 Mellon Intercollegiate Economics Conference.  She also has taught at Bowdoin College, Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Stanford and University of Colorado-Boulder.

Panell received a B.A. degree magna cum laude in economics at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she completed a master’s degree in economics.  She earned a doctoral degree in economics at Stanford University.
