Kay E. Pashos '81 Kay E. Pashos '81 was named vice president of regulatory strategy for Duke Energy's U.S. Franchised Electric and Gas organization in November 2006. In concert with the operating company presidents, she leads the development and implementation of Duke Energy's state regulatory strategies.
Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Duke Energy Corp., one of the largest electric power companies in the United States, supplies and delivers energy to approximately 3.9 million U.S. customers.
Most recently, Pashos served as president of Duke Energy Indiana since December 2004. Previously, she was vice president and general counsel of Cinergy’s regulated business unit. She joined PSI in 1987 and served in positions of increasing responsibility in Cinergy’s legal department while serving as lead counsel in numerous regulatory proceedings. Prior to joining PSI, Pashos was an associate attorney with the Best & Flanagan law firm in Minneapolis.
Pashos is a member of the boards of directors of the Indiana Energy Association, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Damar Services, and Young Voices of Indianapolis. She earned a J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in political science, cum laude, from DePauw.
Pashos is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and is a distinguished fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. She is a former chair of the utility law section of the Indiana State Bar Association and was named to Indianapolis Monthly magazine's list of Super Lawyers for the last four years.
