Office of Communications
It is the mission of the Office of Communications to ensure that DePauw’s name and logo are used consistently and that messages to our many external audiences are uniformly high quality in an effort to reinforce the identity of the University.
We review, design and oversee the design of all printed materials before they are sent off-campus. The graphic designers, writers, editor and photographers in Communications collaborate to design, edit, proofread, photograph and manage the printing of University printed materials. The Office of Communications is also required to review all printed materials produced by any University office for off-campus audiences.
Due to increasing demand, the Office of Communications must prioritize requests to create promotional materials. When requests are received, projects will be assigned and completed based on the following scale:
Level 1: Institution-wide communications.
Print, Web, electronic, display and other Communications that support the University and its mission or enhance the image of the University to primary external audiences. These types of Communications include materials supporting student recruitment and retention, academic departments and programs, advancement, diversity, alumni and the President’s Office.
Level 2: External outreach/primary internal communications.
Print, display and other Communications that support units, departments and offices that are engaged in significant external outreach activities. These types of Communications include materials promoting academic initiatives, theatre and music performances, athletics, service- learning, campus-wide support services and community/economic development.
Level 3: Narrowly focused external/internal communications.
Print, display and other Communications that support individual departments, programs, offices and units. These types of Communications include materials promoting specific academic majors and programs, specific support services and specific special events.
All other Communications requests.
Web and electronic communication support:
Office of Communications and Creative Services assists in developing and updating content of pages of the DePauw website. In addition, Office of Communications provides support for Web and electronic communications that are considered Level 1 priorities. Office of Communications is pleased to offer advice to clients seeking to create Level 2 and Level 3 Web or electronic Communications.
All projects require a four-week production time, which includes up to 10 working days for printing. Design charges are: $25 per 8 ½ x 11 page $50 per 11 x 17 page plus cost of printing and postage, if applicable.
An additional charge of $100 will be assessed on projects that require an accelerated production schedule of less than four weeks.
