Commencement

Commencement PhotoCommencement Weekend is being reshaped for 2012, beginning with the Baccalaureate, which will now be celebrated on Saturday afternoon. The Baccalaureate is a traditional, multi-faith gathering of the class the day before Commencement. At the Baccalaureate, graduating students will hear from their Class Day Speaker, as well as the President of the University. Families are welcome to attend.

The night before commencement, East College lawn is lit up with lanterns and torches, champagne and cake is served, and a big band plays great American standards.  DePauw Under the Stars has become a signature event for the weekend, bringing together the entire community--students, families, friends, faculty and staff--to celebrate. This year, for the first time, there will be a dance floor set up on the lawn.

DePauw University's 173rd Commencement Ceremony takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning in the Holton Quadrangle. Approximately 530 students will receive degrees. We're all looking forward to honoring their achievement.
