This course explores the intersection of business analytics and modern entertainment by analyzing movies and TV shows with business analytics elements. Students will explore how movies and TV shows reflect and influence business strategies, financial decision-making, and market dynamics. This course includes an analysis of popular media to understand financial analytics, marketing strategies, and ethical dilemmas in business. Students will engage in case studies, group discussions, and creative projects, using films and TV series as a lens to view real- world business scenarios. This interdisciplinary approach makes complex business concepts accessible, fostering a deeper understanding of the role of analytics in the entertainment industry. We will analyze real vs. cinematic portrayals of financial crises/cryptocurrency moments, balance analytics and ethics in business decisions using 'Billions' as a case study, and create a marketing strategy for a product from a movie/TV show.
