Communiversity courses and Continued Learning courses offer adult learners the opportunity to engage in music in a variety of ways. Past classes have included “Opera and Wine” and “Spanish Music from Gran Canaria.” These classes are designed to give insight into musical skills as well as other related fields.

Open to learners of all ages, DePauw University musicians provide one-on-one lessons in strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, and voice. Community students will be assigned an instructor and receive approximately ten lessons each semester.
GOALS:
• Experience the study of music in a one-on-one environment
• Develop technical musical skills appropriate for each age group
• Demonstrate learning outcomes through performance
The partnership between the DePauw School of Music and Tzouanakis (TZ) Intermediate School has provided more than 600 students with violin lessons free of charge. Every TZ fourth-grader receives nine lessons across the semester during school hours. Those wishing to continue study can do so throughout fourth and fifth grade by participating in weekly classes.

The DePauw School of Music and Greencastle Middle School provides 6-8 graders with the opportunity to explore their own creativity by learning to improvise and perform in a jazz band.
