Rebecca Schindler focuses on the ethical promotion of Classical archaeology and ancient Mediterranean religion, and teaching spatial literacy through archaeology. She is interested in how we handle and preserve materials, and the ethical issues surrounding archaeological objects and sites.
As president of Central Indiana Archaeological Institute of America, she has done teaching outreach with Children's Museum of Indianapolis. With Pedar Foss, she runs Umbra Institute Summer Archaeology Program in Italy (starts in 2015) taking students to uncover, examine and share the history and material culture of the Lake Trasimeno region in Umbria.
