2020 Senior Art Exhibit Now Online

June 2, 2020

The DePauw University Department of Art and Art History and the Peeler Art Galleries are proud to publicly present the work of the graduating students in Studio Art who have worked tirelessly in difficult circumstances to create and document artwork, and build a digital exhibition.

The exhibition, which can be viewed at www.depauwart2020.com, features the artwork of Holly Acree, Caleigh Bubala, Tianyu Lillian Chu, Malak Daher, Henri Dosti, Nathalie Gallegos, Adilene Garcia, Alex Jackson, Yusnavi Machado, Chris Neal, Konrad Krzysztof Rula, Emily Tekien, Helin Wang, Yifei Wei, Gracie White, and Emma Wittkowski.

Director and Curator of Peeler Arts Center, Maggie Leinieger, writes in the introductory essay that “while many of us will never get to personally interact with this thought-provoking work, presenting the exhibition online provides many advantages. In some ways, the platform created for this year’s exhibition is far more appropriate as it cultivates a sense of careful consideration […]”

“When studio art majors graduate from DePauw it means they’re also graduating from the Peeler Art Center” says John Berry, the group’s seminar instructor for the spring semester, “and while we feel sadness that we couldn’t all celebrate their achievements in person, we are so proud to see how each student brought their own ideas, energy, and creative force to the digital exhibition.  They tackled the challenge as artists: deftly and with determination.”
