Soprano Nicole Philibosian Performs Today

December 4, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Nicole Philibosian, soprano, will perform a recital featuring works of Rachmaninoff, Wagner, Dvorak, Quilter, and a set of Armenian songs today, Thursday, December 4, at 1 p.m. in Thompson Recital Hall of DePauw's Performing Arts Center. Philibosian, a professor of voice at the Interlochen Arts Academy, has been called by the New York Post, "an uncommon talent... sterling vocal technique. Miss Philibosian's voice has an exciting clear vibrancy that is accompanied by a solid sense of theatrics." The DePauw performance is free and open to all.

Nicole Philibosian has been heard with distiction in opera houses throughout the United States, Asia, and in Europe, featuring the New York City Opera, Seattle, Portland, Hawaii, Dallas, l'Opera de Nice, Seoul, Korea, and the Chamber Opera Theatre of New York. Philibosian will be accompanied by Donna Brunsma, pianist. Brunsma has worked throughout Europe and North America coaching and accompanying many of today's international opera singers including Richard Tucker, William Warfield, Mirella Freni, Nicolai Ghiarov, Alfredo Kraus, Jose Carreras, Samuel Raney, and Renee Fleming.
