Sinclair, auditor since 1997 and president of the Washington State Association of County Auditors, is seeking the Republican nomination for her state's second district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. "I am known in the party. I'm in a listening mode for Whatcom County," she says.

The article points out that Sinclair "is past president of South Whidbey Rotary Club and was president of South Whidbey Republican Women's Club. A certified public accountant before she was elected auditor, Sinclair has an accounting degree from Central Washington University and a history degree from DePauw University in Indiana."
