Nelsen, professor of mathematics at Lewis & Clark College and 1964 graduate of DePauw University, is co-editor of The Calculus Collection: A Resource for AP and Beyond. Published by the Mathematical Association, the book is part of the Classroom Resource Materials series.

The Calculus Collection consists of 123 articles, each of which focuses on engaging students who are meeting the core ideas of calculus for the first time.  The book is filled with insights, alternate explanations of difficult ideas, and suggestions for how to take a standard problem and open it up to the rich mathematical explorations available when students are encouraged to dig a little deeper.

Professor Nelsen, who majored in mathematics at DePauw and received his Ph.D. from Duke University, has written several books published by roger b nelsen.jpgthe MAA, including When Less is More: Visualizing Basic Inequalities and Math Made Visual : Creating Images for Understanding Mathematics.
