Three DePauw Student-Athletes Earn All-NCAC Volleyball Honors

103136November 7, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. — Three DePauw student-athletes have earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball honors in voting by the conference's coaches.

Senior outside hitter Abby Balbach (McCordsville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) was named to the first team, while senior middle hitter Paige Thompson (Crawfordsville, Ind./Crawfordsville) earned a spot on the second team and senior opposite Kylee Lehrman (Decatur, Ind./Bellmont) was honorable mention.

Balbach (pictured) led the Tigers with 2.95 kills per set and was second with a .240 hitting percentage. She also was second with 45 service aces and 0.39 aces per set and third with 3.10 digs per set.

Thompson paced the squad with a .258 hitting percentage and with 0.7 blocks per set, while Lehrman was the team leader with 62 aces/0.58 per set and was second with 3.33 digs per set. She also was named to the 2011 NCAC All-Tournament Team.

The Tigers finished the season with a 21-12 overall record and were tied for third in both the conference regular season standings and the conference tournament.
