Students at Indianapolis Charter School Give On Air Shout Out to DePauw

April 24, 2019

"Circle City Prep, a charter school for elementary schools on the city's far east side, is building up a small community of positive young learners, but they need some help keeping that mission alive and they're asking for your help raising the money," begins a report that aired on WISH-TV in Indianapolis this morning. Randall Newsome reports that the school is tuition-free, and "that's not all that makes this place different from other schools. The classrooms are college-themed, meaning each class is named after a university instead of having an elementary mascot. Notable schools you'll hear being chanted throughout the school, by the kids, are Howard University, Depauw University, Spellman and Morehouse Colleges and Washington University."

Newsome's visit to the classroom includes the young scholars serving up their DePauw chant. It can be seen at the station's website, or below.
