How to start a new organization

Are you looking for a student club or group that interests you but cannot find one at DePauw that fits your needs?
Why not start your own — it’s easy!

 

Steps to start a new organization

  1. Gather Members and an Advisor

    • Each new group must have at least 10 members (including executive board members).

    • You must also have a faculty or professional staff advisor.

  2. Ensure Eligibility

    • All students must be eligible for campus activities.

    • Please see the Student Handbook for more information.

  3. Fulfill Recognition Requirements through DePauw Student Government (DSG)

    • To use University facilities and resources and request student fee funding, your group must be a recognized student organization.

    To complete recognition:

    • Submit a constitution to DSG.

    • Submit your organization for Student Organization Recognition through the process found on CampusLabs under the Organizations tab.
