Membership Intake Process
The membership intake process is conducted by the individual chapters, and occurs during either semester. Membership selection for groups engaging in membership intake is an individualized process that is different for each organization.

Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment
Interested female students in their sophomore, junior, and senior years are eligible to both participate in Panhellenic recruitment activities, hosted by the individual sororities, throughout the year, and to accept a bid to join an organization at any point in the academic year. Interested first-year students are encouraged to participate in the sorority and Panhellenic events, however, to officially join, students are encouraged to sign up for formal sorority recruitment between November 1 2026 and January 27 2027.
Formal sorority recruitment is the process by which interested women, including first-years, sign up for and attend a series of events to learn more about potentially joining a Panhellenic Council organization on campus. This annual experience takes place the weekend between the end of the winter term and the beginning of the spring term.

Recruitment Orientation Potential members meet with their recruitment counselor group online in the evening to learn more about the coming weekend’s events. |

Thursday January 28, 2027 |
Sisterhood Round Potential members travel from house to house with their recruitment counselor group meeting the members and learning more about each sorority. |

Friday January 29, 2027 |
Philanthropy Round Potential members visit up to four chapters throughout the evening to learn more about how each chapter supports their chosen philanthropic programs and agencies. |
|
Saturday January 30, 2027 |
Preference Round Potential members attend up to two chapters’ events throughout the day to experience the deeper connections and esoteric meanings of the sorority experience. |

Sunday January 31, 2027 |
Bid Day Potential members receiving an invitation to join a sorority become new members and “run home” to their new chapter. |
Panhellenic Recruitment is a mutual selection process, which means that both the potential members and the individual sorority chapters are both making choices throughout the process. There is a small fee for Panhellenic Formal recruitment that will be posted to your University account at the close of recruitment.

Interfraternity Council Recruitment
Similar to Panhellenic Council recruitment, interested male students in their sophomore, junior, and senior years are eligible to participate in recruitment activities hosted by the individual fraternities throughout the year.
Formal IFC recruitment is the process by which interested men, including first-years, attend a series of events to learn more about and potentially join an IFC organization on campus. This annual experience takes place the weekend between the end of the winter term and the beginning of the spring term.
