WinGammon
Marika Erin McGhee
This project involves the creation a fully functioning computer backgammon game featuring three modes: one player, two player, and tutorial. The one-player and two-player modes are self explanatory. Users could play against an AI or another user. In single player mode, the user can select various options - such as length of game, and optional use of doubling cube. The tutorial mode will be an interactive learning mode. This mode will not only teach the basic rules of backgammon but will teach skill and reasoning behind arguably good backgammon playing. Simply put, the user will not only learn how to play, but how to win. The tutorial mode will feature plenty of helpful hints and suggestions based on the current roll of the dice; it will encourage use of the doubling cube as necessary; it will provide reasoning based on probability and intuition.
