Truc and Interns

1  Where was your internship?
-> I interned at Microsoft and worked at their headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
2  What was the title of the internship?
-> I worked as a Software Engineer Intern in the Azure Security Eco-System. I designed and built a secured cryptographic cloud data transfer process for the Microsoft Security Team.
3  What in your opinion was the most important reason that you were chosen for the internship?
-> My resume indicates that I use different technologies for different personal projects, which proves my ability to learn and adapt to new tech stacks. But besides that, it was because I spent a lot of time practicing behavioral interviews and solving Leetcode problems.
4  What skills/knowledge from DPU prepared you the best?
-> Besides classes, my time working as the President of Women in Computer Science enabled me to share my values, my stories, and my leadership experience with the interviewers. In the final round, the manager was really curious about the activities of my organization and shared what he does at Microsoft to enhance the diversity in computing too.
5  What was the best moment of your internship?
-> Working on the project, I did not know how much impact I had on the team. After my final presentation, my manager was impressed and decided to schedule a meeting with all the "big bosses" that I never thought I would have a chance to talk to and present to again. On the last day of my internship, many of those "bosses" also came to my office to shake my hand and told me how my project helped the team. I still cannot believe that as an intern I was able to catch the attention of a "skip-skip" manager who managed thousands of full-time employees.
6  If you were to give a hint for obtaining an internship, what would it be?
-> Start building your resume as soon as possible and build a personal project that you can share during the interview. It's not only about what projects you built but also why you built them. It shows your value as an aspiring software engineer.
