Transfer applicants must submit all materials required for regular admission plus an official college transcript and the Common Application’s College Official’s Report. Please review the deadlines and required application materials unique to transfer students before submitting your application. Transfer applicants admitted to DePauw typically demonstrate a minimum 3.0 GPA in college-level work. All applicants will automatically be considered for a University Merit award during the admission process.

Required materials for transfer students*

  1. Transfer Student Common Application
  2. Common Applications' College Official's Report
  3. Official College transcripts
  4. Final High School Transcript (unofficial may be used for admission but an official final transcript is required when a student enrolls) 
  5. If applying to the School of Music, you will need to complete the audition process 

*International transfer students must still prove English proficiency, so TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo is required if English is not the first language. A letter of recommendation is optional and not required.

Transferring Credits

Upon admission, our Registrar's Office assists all transfer students with scheduling classes and determining transfer credits.

Our Campus Living and Community Development Office assists students with housing accommodations once an enrollment deposit is submitted.

Enrollment Deposit

A $400 non-refundable enrollment deposit is due by August 1st for Fall semester and January 1st for Spring semester.

*Admitted students can request to defer for up to one year. A $1,100 advance tuition deposit is required and this deposit will be credited to the student’s first semester charges. Please note that the advance tuition payment is non-refundable but is also applied toward tuition when the student enrolls at DePauw University. Any student who is deferring must submit their formal request in writing which should include the student's reasoning for deferring to admission@depauw.edu or intladmission@depauw.edu by June 15. Any need-based financial aid awards are not automatically preserved and the student will need to re-apply for need-based aid for the following year.  If the deferral request is approved, the advance tuition payment must be submitted by July 1.
