DePauw Legacy Society
Recognizing visionary donors whose legacy will build the future.
DePauw Legacy Society members demonstrate their steadfast commitment to future generations at the university through support that will sustain a first-class student experience and impact DePauw’s long-term excellence.
The DePauw Legacy Society honors all alumni, families, faculty, staff and friends whose gifts of any amount will benefit DePauw in the future through estate gifts, beneficiary designations or gifts that may provide lifetime income.
The following types of gifts and commitments, confirmed in writing, qualify alumni and friends for membership in the DePauw Legacy Society:
-
an estate commitment in your will or revocable trust
-
a life-income gift that names DePauw as a remainder beneficiary, such as a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity
-
a charitable lead trust that provides income to DePauw for a donor's lifetime or specific term of years
-
a gift or assignment of qualified retirement plan assets, such as an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b)
-
a gift of life insurance
-
certain other planned gifts
If you have already included DePauw as a beneficiary in your estate plans but have not informed us, we invite you to let us know by contacting Beau Slater, planned giving officer, at beauslater@depauw.edu or 765.658.4144. The power of your philanthropic example can inspire other DePauw alumni and friends to provide a future gift to the university. DePauw Legacy Society members may choose to remain anonymous and still receive benefits afforded to members. The Office of Planned Giving welcomes the opportunity to speak with you confidentially and without obligation to discuss a gift plan that meets your philanthropic and financial goals.
