First-Year Resident Assistant Selection Process

Campus Living and Community Development at DePauw University seeks to hire a diverse group of student leaders for the 2017 - 2018 student leader staff team, in the First-Year Resident Assistant (FYRA) position. We are seeking leaders who are passionate about and committed to positively contributing to the development of healthy, inclusive residence hall communities. FYRAs work in communities that house first-year students. The FYRA appointment is for the fall and spring semesters of the 2017 - 2018 academic year with the option to add a Winter Term appointment. The position commences with intensive education and development during August 2017. All FYRAs are supervised by a Coordinator for Campus Living or the Assistant Director of Campus Living and Community Development, who are professional staff members who work in the CLCD office.
General Qualifications for the FYRA Position
FYRA candidates must be a full-time student for the 2017 - 2018 academic year and must be at least a first-semester sophomore for the Fall 2017 semester who is in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University. Candidates new to the Campus Living and Community Development Student Leader Staff team must commit to being on campus for the full Academic Year.

Information Sessions are designed to help you learn more detailed information about our application process and the FYRA position to determine if you think this will be a great fit for your continued growth and development. Those interested in the FYRA position should attend one (1) information session. Information Sessions will be held in the CLCD office and are scheduled for the following dates and times:

Tuesday, January 31, 2017 - 7:00 PM
Wednesday, February 1, 2017 - 7:00 PM
Thursday, February 2, 2017 - 11:30 AM
Monday, February 6, 2017 - 11:30 AM
Tuesday February 7, 2017 - 7:00 PM
Application packets will be made available at the Information Sessions, with important deadline information included. In order to complete your application, please know that you will need two (2) recommendations.
One must be from a faculty member or administrator at DePauw University (e.g. professor, work study supervisor, coach, etc.).
The second must be from a current student staff member in Campus Living and Community Development (First Year Resident Assistant, Community Resource Assistant or Housing Assistant).
