Jeff Cieply '84 Leading New Sports Marketing Division

March 21, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Jeff Cieply, former director of marketing for the Green Bay Packers and a 1984 graduate of DePauw University, is joining Zizzo Group Advertising in Milwaukee to head the firm's new sports marketing division. Cieply's title is vice president of sports marketing, and the Milwaukee Small Business Times says "the division will handle sponsorships and giveaways, marketing plans and creative development, and media opportunity evaluation."

"We have an innovative team at Zizzo Group Advertising with the vision to develop new business, revitalize marketing operations and lead our clients to success," Cieply tells the Times. "We balance long-term positioning and branding with immediate results to provide a meaningful mechanism to building customer relations and to generate new channels of revenue opportunity."

Anne Zizzo, the agency's president and CEO, says, "Jeff Cieply is a tremendous addition to Zizzo Group Advertising. He knows how to work with clients, define goals, develop winning strategies, negotiate agreements, execute contracts, and evaluate success. Our team and clients will benefit from Jeff's experience, skills and insight."

Jeff Cieply was the Packers' first director of marketing, and spent 13 years in the post. Prior to that, he worked five years in the marketing department of the Chicago White Sox. The article notes that "Cieply earned his B.A. in communications and business administration from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He is Vice President of the Center for Childhood Safety and serves on the board of directors for the Special Olympics of Northeast Wisconsin."
