DePauw Opens Spring Season by Winning its Own Invitational

March 15, 2009, Danville, Ind. —  DePauw shot a 307 in the first tournament of the spring and defeated Franklin by one stroke at the DePauw Spring Invitational at Twin Bridges Golf Club. Oakland City was third followed by Manchester and Rose-Hulman. Phillip Riggs of Oakland City was the medalist with a 70.

Peter Haller led the Tigers with a 75 followed by Ronnie Harris and Joey Piatek with 77 apiece. Ryan Berra followed with a 78 and Chase King shot an 80.

Playing as individuals for DePauw, Nathan Smith shot a 72, while Alex Burns finished with a 75 and Chance Trottman-Huiet shot an 80.

The Tigers return to action March 27-29 at The Intercollegiate at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, N.C.
