Meal Plans
DePauw University offers meal plans that provide a number of meal swipes per week. Flex dollars and Community Plus dollars are also available with all meal plans to provide students with additional options. A meal or card “swipe” is normally an all-you-care-to-eat meal at Hoover Hall during operating hours or a meal swipe equivalent used at the Student Union Convenience Store, Cafe Roy, or Café Allegro. Please keep in mind that services and locations are subject to change for health and safety reasons, including (but not limited to) COVID.
All students living in DePauw-owned housing must participate in a meal plan.
The table below summarizes meal plans. Prices are per term. Additional information can be found on the meal plan summary page.

Meal Plan Selection Guide
The process for choosing your meal plan depends on your status as a student and the timing of your housing application. Students will select a meal plan at the start of each term.
For Incoming/Transfer Students
- Options: You have two choices: ResHall 18 or ResHall Flex 14.
- When to Select: You must make your selection at the same time you submit your housing application within Residence Housing portal.
For Returning Students
- Options: You can choose from any meal plan that is eligible for your specific housing assignment. The meal plan options available to you are based on your facility type (Residence Hall, Rector Village, University-owned apartments and houses).
- When to Select: You will make your meal plan selection after you have finalized your housing assignment during the housing selection process.
Important Rules to Remember
- The Default Plan: If you fail to confirm a selection by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the default plan based on your housing assignment. This assignment will remain for the term.
- One-Time Choice: This will be your only opportunity to select your plan, so it is important to choose carefully before submitting.
Pro-Tip: Check your housing assignment details first if you are a returning student, as your building or room type may unlock different meal plan options not available to incoming students.
Current meal swipe, Flex dollar, and Community Plus dollar balances are now available at get.cbord.com/depauw. Students should go to the HelpDesk for assistance if they have any issues signing up for an account on the GET site.
