Prof. Robert Lundin '42 Authors Principles of Psychopathology

October 5, 1965

100372October 5, 1965, Greencastle, Ind. — Robert W. Lundin, a 1942 graduate of DePauw University, is the author of Principles of Psychopathology. The new book, published by Charles E. Merrill Inc., offers a new and modern approach to the field of abnormal behavior.  Lundin is a professor of psychology at the University of the South.

In this, his fourth book, Dr. Lundin bases classifications of abnormal behaviors on behavioral descriptions rather than medical or psychiatric nosology. Findings from recent psychological literature are emphasized, along with a developmental approach to psychopathology based on empirical research and experimental data as well as carefully analyzed case histories.

Lundin, who earned a Ph.D. at Indiana University, joined the University of the South faculty last year after teaching 15 years at Hamilton College in New York.  An ardent pianist, he has written many articles on the relationship between music and psychology.
