Three Students Are Awarded Lund Scholarships

April 15, 2003

April 15, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Three members of Phi Delta Theta, Indiana Zeta chapter at DePauw University are being rewarded for their scholarship and community involvement through the generosity of fraternity brother and 1948 DePauw alumnus Albert L. Lund. Junior David Trogden of Owensboro, Kentucky and sophomores Andrew Behrmann (Avon, Indiana) and Richard Livingston (Oak Dale, Minnesota) have been selected to receive Lund Scholarships of $5,000 each for the 2003-04 academic year. Trogden, who is currently studying off campus, is a repeat winner. He also received a Lund Scholarship for the current academic year. The photo shows, l-r, Eugene L. Albert Lund established the scholarship in 1999, to reward members of his fraternity for their dedication to academics and their involvement in campus and community activities. Larry Lund '77, the son of Albert Lund and also a Phi Delt, returned to campus to announce the scholarship recipients. He was joined by other members of the Lund Scholarship committee, Eugene L. Delves '50 and Ed Gower '77, and a number of DePauw faculty members who attended the scholarship dinner.

"My father was a Rector Scholar at DePauw, and without that money could not have attended this University," said Larry Lund. "DePauw and Phi Delta Theta are two of his greatest loves, and his gifts ensure that both remain strong. My dad gets tremendous satisfaction in helping these young men achieve their goals, and he especially enjoys the letters and e-mails he exchanges with the Lund Scholars, and learning how their lives are developing."
