Tigers place 18 on all-SCAC football teams

November 21, 2005, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw placed 18 players on the 2005 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Team including six on the first team. The complete team, which is selected by the conference's seven head coaches, is available here.

Left guard Kerry Pappas, tight end Chase Jonason, running back Jeremiah Marks and quarterback Ross Wiethoff were first team choices on offense, while defensive tackle Joseph DiSalvo and strong safety Curran Clark earned honors on defense.

DePauw selections to the second team included center Chad Homan, left tackle Jaime Waymouth and wide receiver Brian Culp on offense and defensive ends Dustin Hertel and Darron Lasley, cornerback Andrew Huff and free safety Greg Sylvester on defense.

DePauw's honorable mention selections included cornerback Brendan Berigan, linebacker Aaron Key, right guard Scott Kreuzman, linebacker Eric Lewis and nose tackle Eric Rausch.

Wiethoff earned first team honors as a punter in 2003 and second team at quarterback last season, while Culp was a second team choice in 2003 and honorable mention last year. Marks, Hertel, Lewis and Sylvester were chosen to the first team last year with Homan, Jonason and Lasley earning second team honors in 2004.

The Tigers finished the season with a 7-2 overall record and a 5-0 mark in SCAC play which was good for the conference co-championship with Trinity.
