Liz Bondi is SCAC Women's Basketball 'Player of the Year'; One of 3 Tigers Honored by the Conference

bondi011706.jpgFebruary 26, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Liz Bondi, a senior forward on DePauw University's women's basketball team, is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference "Player of the Year," reports the Terre Haute Tribune-Star. In voting by SCAC coaches, "DePauw won three of the four major awards," the official announcement from the conference states. Senior forward Lindsey Houin is SCAC Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Kris Huffman earned SCAC Coach of the Year honors."

The SCAC article begins, "DePauw University's women's team went on an unprecedented run this season -- winning a school and conference record 23 consecutive games heading into the SCAC tournament. That impressive feat did not go unnoticed when the all-SCAC ballots went out."

Huffman, in her thirteenth season as head coach at DePauw, has been named the SCAC Coach of the Year four times -- a league record.huffman.jpg
