David Agnew 96 2010b.jpgMarch 2, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. —  J. David Agnew,  president of Floyd County, Indiana's bar association, "became a lawyer a decade ago, having gone to law school at Indiana University in Bloomington after receiving his bachelor's degree in trumpet performance at DePauw University," notes a Louisville Courier-Journal feature. "He figured at one point he'd end up a high school band director. He still plays his horn in The Signature Big Band, music being one of several pastimes."

A 1996 graduate of DePauw, Agnew is an associate at Ward & King.  He "represents primarily businesses and utilities. He litigates routinely but spends fairly little time in court," writes Dale Moss.  "Agnew has set several goals for his term, which runs through the end of this year. He said he's trying to line up a photographer to take each member's photo, to be displayed in the courthouse. He would also like to publish a directory of members and to update the group's bylaws. Otherwise, he considers his mission to boost interest in the group's typical events.

Agnew tells the newspaper, "Lawyers are busy people. At the end of the day, they want to get home to their families like everybody else. But hopefully I can get folks a little more active."
