ecember 12, 1986, Greencastle, Ind. - "I think the biggest impediment to minority enrollment is convincing gifted minority students that it's finally possible for them to attend a private college," DePauw University President Robert G. Bottoms tells CNN. The national cable network's report on the challenges of recruiting minorities and how American colleges are working to increase access and diversity included DePauw.
Eugenia Halsey added, "Bottoms says too few students realize they can get financial aid from the colleges as well as the government, enough to meet their needs."
DePauw senior Scott Lewis is also interviewed.
