Attorney Virginia Gibson '76 to Speak in Michigan Friday

Virginia Gibson, partner in the law firm of Hogan Lovells USLLP and 1976 graduate of DePauw University, "will present the current status on the rule of law litigation with respect to current administration policy on sanctuary cities and travel ban from 10- 11 a.m. at Bay View’s Scarrow Forum, Friday, June 21, at Loud Hall," reports the News-Review of Petoskey, Michigan.

"Gibson, a trial lawyer for 30 years, represents the City of Philadelphia in its suit against former attorney general Jeff Sessions to obtain federal law enforcement grant funds from the Department of Justice.She defends corporations and individual clients under federal and state investigation for fraud and regulatory violations. She served as a federal prosecutor for over 20 years in Philadelphia and Delaware and was the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and Civil Chief in both districts.Gibson also represents abused and neglected children as a child advocate; voters who won a challenge to Pennsylvania’s legislative districting; sexual abuse victims through RAINN; and helped win introduction of victim testimony in the Bill Cosby retrial in Pennsylvania."
