Application Directions

Please note instructions for first-year applicants are in the left-hand column. Lateral entry application instructions can be found in the right-hand column. Lateral Entry is available for rising-sophomores only (Class of 2027). Applications for the Class of 2028 open based on one's university application.

  1. Confirm you have applied to DePauw University. Admitted students will receive information about applying to ITAP following their acceptance.
  2. Submit your materials by completing the online application through your application status portal. Please note that you will also need two supervisors or teachers to submit recommendations. You can send these requests for recommendations through your application status portal as well. 
  3. Invitations for personal interviews will be extended to those who best fit the selection criteria. Interviews will take place over Zoom. 
  1. Complete the online ITAP Lateral Entry Application. You must be logged into your DePauw Google Apps account to access this form. The application asks several questions about past employment and extracurricular experiences, as well as experience with technology and expectations for the program. 
  2. Request two staff or faculty (especially campus employers) from DePauw to submit recommendations via the online ITAP Lateral Entry Recommendation Form. You must be logged into your DePauw Google Apps account to access this form.
  3. Invitations for personal interviews will be extended to those who best fit the selection criteria. Interviews will take place in person.

Note: The application timeline for first-years is dependent on their DePauw University application. For specific timelines, make sure to pay attention to notifications from your Tiger Portal and your email on file. The Lateral Entry application timeline is below.

May 10th, 2024 Acceptance or declination requested

Admission into ITAP is selective and based on academic record, analytical skills, communication skills, extra-curricular activities, evidence of leadership and initiative, evidence of interest in and knowledge of ITAP, technology-related experience (e.g., projects, employment, courses, etc.), and existing technology skills. A passion to learn more about technology and its role in society are crucial as are strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
