A program by International Student Affairs that connects international students with local families to create cultural connections and foster supportive relationships.

The Hoosier Hospitality Program (HHP) annually pairs DePauw's international students with Greencastle families to promote cross-cultural exchange. The program provides an enjoyable and rewarding experience for both American families and international students. It is a chance for international students to develop a deeper understanding of and experience American culture and life. For local families, it's an amazing opportunity to foster intercultural awareness.

Families are not asked to provide housing for their host students - only a "home away from home".

My friends and I cooked a traditional Chinese dish for the Pearson family. Mr. and Ms. Pearson also introduced me to the Greencastle church where it is a big family and completely new to me before.

As an international student, not having my family by my side was my biggest worry, but my host family took my worries right away! Their place has been my home away from  home. They are genuinely nice, understanding, and supportive! They always treated us like one of their children. I'll forever cherish the memories from our Friday family nights and random call or text check ins!
