Black Knight Archive: Migration by Ian Weaver at the Richard E. Peeler Art Center
On view: October 26-December 1, 2020

Greencastle, IN – DePauw University presents the exhibition Black Knight Archive: Migration, a selection of art work by Ian Weaver opening October 26 and runs through December 1, 2020. The exhibit explores how we perceive identity through historical artifacts and memories but questions what happens when communities are disrupted or erased therefore losing connections to their histories. Based off of the history of the Near West Side of Chicago, Ian Weaver crafts a unique fictive history for the “Black Bottom” communities of this neighborhood that was demolished for the arrival of a highway and a university.

Ian Weaver will host a live Q&A session on Zoom about his work on November 9th at 8:30 p.m. A recorded lecture of his work can be found here.
