Actor Drew Powell '98 to Share Screen with John Cusack & WWE's John Cena

Drew Powell 2006.jpgSeptember 27, 2006, Greencastle, Ind. - Drew Powell, a 1998 graduate of DePauw University, is among a cast that includes John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson in 1408, a movie currently in production and scheduled for release next year. The film is based on the Stephen King short story of the same name. IMDB.com provides this synopsis: "A man who specializes in debunking paranormal occurrences checks into the fabled room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel. Soon after settling in, he confronts genuine terror."

Next month, look for Powell in The Marine, a film from 20th Century Fox, which stars wrestler John Cena and Kelly Carlson. It is scheduled for release October 13, and you'll find a trailer and other information at the movie's Web site.

Popcorn Movie Ticket Film.jpgA Media Fellow at DePauw, Drew Powell's list of television and movie appearances includes a role in the July 28 episode of USA Network's Monk and a 2005 shot on FX's, Over There. He had a featured part in the PAX show The Ponderosa, in which he portrayed a teenaged Hoss Cartwright. Powell was also a recurring character in the FOX series Malcolm in the Middle, and has appeared in the WB Network's Popular and V.I.P. starring Pamela Anderson. The DePauw graduate appeared in the film Starship Troopers II and landed leading roles in the independent films, My Education and Crusher.
