Liz Bondi and Amrita Padda Take ITA Doubles Title; Bondi in Singles Final

Romana and Elizca Buys lost 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 to Elizabeth Bondi and Amrita Padda of DePauw University in the semifinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Small College Championship at Florida Gulf Coast University at Fort Myers, Fla.," reports the Journal Times of Racine, Wisconsin. Bondi and Padda went on to defeat Sewanee's team of Laura Fanjoy and Gabriela Cavalho 6-2, 6-1 yesterday and win the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Women's Doubles title. The DePauw duo advance to the ITA's Super Bowl of Tennis where they'll face the junior college champions Hiroko Nishikawa and Mizuho Nishimura of Hillsborough Community College in a semifinal match today.

Liz Bondi, the top-seeded singles player advanced to the singles final after defeating Carnegie Mellon's Amy Staloch in the semifinals by a 6-2, 6-1 score. She'll face Carvalho in Saturday's finals.
