February 23, 2007

February 23, 2007, Greencastle, Ind. - "We could call him up and he would hand the keys [to the school gymnasium] to us, and we would just come over to shoot and play," says Neal Ogle of his high school basketball coach, John Sloggett. A 1986 graduate of DePauw University, Ogle is quoted in a story in Indiana's Frankfort Timeson Sloggett, who is retiring after leading the Clinton Central boy's basketball team for 21 years. "After we got done we would take the keys back to his house, he would invite us in and we would hang out there for another two hours."

The DePauw connection of Ogle -- who lettered in basketball at the University -- is noted in the article, which DePauw Logo White.jpgreports that more than 30 of Coach Sloggett's former players turned out to honor him earlier this week.
