Driver's Safety
Becoming a Certified Student Driver
Successful completion of the Driver’s Safety Program is required for any student who operates a vehicle for University-related purposes. This includes:

Vehicles obtained from the University Service Center

Rental vehicles used for University business

Driving on behalf of University departments or programs
Certification Process
Faculty or staff who wish to have a student certified to drive a University-owned vehicle must ensure that the student completes all required steps. To begin the process, contact the University Service Center at 765-658-4907.
Eligibility Requirements
Due to the University’s insurance policy, the following restrictions apply:

Only students 18 years of age or older are eligible for Driver’s Certification.

Students who will operate a University-owned 12-passenger van must be 21 years of age or older.

Individuals with major driving violations are prohibited from becoming certified to drive University vehicles.
