Upperclass Student Parking Regulations

DePauw is a residential campus; academic buildings and athletic facilities are within easy walking distance of all living units. Parking spaces on and around campus are limited. The DePauw Police Department designates and regulates parking privileges for students, faculty, and staff.

University Policy

  • Any student having a vehicle in Greencastle must obtain and properly display a parking permit.

  • All students must understand and abide by the DePauw student parking regulations, available on the DePauw Police website.

  • Pursuant to Greencastle City Resolution 1998-18 and Indiana Code 20-12-3.5-3, enforcement is handled by the DePauw Police Department on University property and adjacent city streets.

  • Violation of regulations may result in fines, vehicle impoundment, referral to Community Standards, and/or loss of parking privileges.

Vehicle Registration

  • Students register their vehicles via e-Services.

  • Required information: license plate, make, model, and color.

  • Parking permits are delivered to the student’s UB Box with an updated Parking Regulations Brochure.

  • Cost: $110 per permit, billed to student account.

  • Permits are nontransferable and expire annually.

  • Additional vehicle registration fee: $15

  • Temporary permits (30 days or less): $10

  • Permit display: Driver’s side lower left corner of the rear windshield (inside). If not visible, use the front windshield driver’s side lower left corner.
