Heather Unruh 2009-2.jpgOctober 26, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — Heather Unruh, evening news anchor at Boston's WCVB-TV and 1989 graduate of DePauw University, will emcee a candlelight vigil to be held by Lung Cancer Alliance-Massachusetts on November 5, according to Reuters. Speakers at the event, which will take place in front of the Prudential Building, will include U.S. Representative Barney Frank, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, and Jerry Remy, an announcer and former player for the Boston Red Sox.

The announcement notes, "Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death both nationally and in Massachusetts. In 2009, it will claim more lives than breast, prostate, colon, liver, kidney, and melanoma cancers combined. Of the 5,120 Commonwealth residents who will be diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009, more than 60 percent will be never-smokers or former smokers who quit decades ago."
