Larry Wiseman playing the trumpetMarch 5, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - The DePauw University community mourns the passing of Larry F. Wiseman, adjunct professor of trumpet, who lost his battle with cancer on March 3. A member of the DePauw faculty since 1993, Wiseman's legacy lives on in the many young musicians whose lives he touched in the classroom, and to audiences worldwide who were treated to his performances with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Professor Wiseman also performed with the DePauw Faculty Jazz Ensemble (members in the photo at right are: Steve Hanna, adjunct associate professor of percussion, drums; Larry, trumpet; and Randy Salman, professor of woodwinds, saxophone).
